Unser Glaube Ist Der Sieg

This was taken with my Nikon D800 and a telephoto lens

Detail of Berliner Dom. This is an awesome reconstruction considering it was heavily damaged by Allied bombing, below. “Our faith is the victory.”

Spring in NYC

Magnolias and cherry trees will make a spring photo op. Love the ginger dad and little ginger son, at right

My Top Three Cafés in Berlin

  1. Housed in a stately prewar building and featuring a pristine garden, Cafe Wintergarten im Literaturhaus, in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin, is a real treat. The building also contains a bookstore on the ground floor, with naturally, many literary works.

• Fasanenstrasse 23, +49 30 882 5414, literaturhaus-berlin.de. Mon-Sun 9.30am-1am (breakfast served until 2pm)

The large garden of Cafe Wintergarten contains outdoor seating.

2. Cafe Einstein, in Schöneberg, also has a garden where you can sit outside in the warmer months. This Viennese-style cafe, housed in a bourgeois villa unscathed by the war, has an interesting, and tragic, Nazi-era history

Enjoy a delicious apple strudel, a signature dish, in Cafe Einstein

3. Cafe Berio,  in Schöneberg, is more like a French cafe than the other two mentioned here in that you can sit outside on the sidewalk and people-watch. Often showcasing works of local artists, it is open 24 hours.

Massenstrasse 7,   +49 (0)30 2161 946,  info@cafeberio.de

Cafe Berio has a lively crowd, delicious cakes and is open 24 hours.

Love the trams in Prague. They are part of the show

My favorite hotel in Barcelona? The W (aka La Vela)

I love this hotel not only for the great views and its cool decor, but also for the gorgeous bar on the top floor. Taken with my Sony RX100, a great compact camera.

Locals call this hotel La Vela, which means the sail, because of the hotel’s shape. So use this term when you want to impress the locals.

Doesn’t get much better than this in NYC

The HIGH LINE is one of the top visited sites in New York City. You are above the street and away from the traffic. It’s planted like a park. It is said to be very safe. What’s not to enjoy?

LOL, the billboard says, Stop praying, God is too busy to find you a parking spot.
